The mayor of Ciales, Alexander Burgos, reported that: “Today we have scheduled the third mass vaccination for our residents. Although we were notified that the dose to be supplied was from Modern Company, the one delivered to us is the one manufactured by Johnson & Johnson Company. As you know, this morning, the CDC and the FDA issued a formal statement to stop the supply of this vaccine for the complications of clots presented to six American patients. This recommendation was followed a few minutes ago by the Department of Health of Puerto Rico, which prevents us from continuing with the vaccination effort scheduled for today. Our desire is to guarantee all citizens quick access to immunization, while protecting the safety and health of our families. Very soon we will coordinate a new date for vaccination.
