A Ukrainian confessed to a fake murder – in a bizarre street to clear his snow of his road, authorities said.
The man, who was not publicly identified by name, called police on Saturday night to say that he stabbed his mother’s boyfriend, Agence France-Presse reported.
But he “immediately warned” the police to come with a snow plow, saying it would be impossible to get to his house otherwise, Yuliya Kovtun, a police spokeswoman, said on Monday.
But officers only managed to get home in an SUV – and found the “victim” unharmed there, according to Kovtun.
Meanwhile, the “killer” immediately confessed to inventing the crime, a police spokesman said.
Apparently, he came up with the scheme after he was dissatisfied with the “quality of compensation” on his roads by city workers earlier Saturday, Kovtun said.
The man, from the village of Grybova Rudnya, now faces a fine of up to 119 hryvnia, or about $ 4, for filing a false complaint.
The incident took place when record snowfalls fell on Ukraine in recent days, covering about 20 centimeters covering a large part of the country.
