Polaris is one of the world’s leading names in snowmobiles, off-roaders, ATVs and other recreational vehicles.
During the coronavirus pandemic, sales increased despite supply chain and logistics issues.
The company has also formed a partnership with the electric brand Zero Motorcycles, which will allow Polaris to use Zero technology on Polaris off-roads. Analysts say the transaction will reduce the cost of developing electric vehicles – which are expensive – while expanding Polaris’ customer base and attracting new groups of investors passionate about electric vehicles and their market potential.
Many experts in the automotive industry still believe that future all-electric car managers will sometimes talk about being a few years ago. Perhaps this could be even more true for the recreational vehicle segments in which Polaris plays.
Problems with autonomy and charging time that prevent some buyers from buying electric cars, trucks and SUVs could be even more in the minds of those who drive off-roaders in remote areas, where power outlets are hard to find. .
But electric snowmobiles and terrain are attractive to customers. One reason: they are calm. An electric snowmobile or one next to another is less likely to scare animals on a farm or wild animals in a forest.
This is what many Polaris customers say they could use.
If this proves to be true, electrical technology could be another way for Polaris to maintain some of the success it has had in recent years.
