Buckingham Palace has released a list of those who will attend Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday at a chapel in Windsor Castle.
With only 30 participants – a short list of British social distance rules – it will be a very intimate and very royal affair.
Here is a breakdown of those who go:
QUEEN ELIZABETH
Philip’s widow for over 70 years, Queen Elizabeth, will of course attend.
She had a firm hand in planning the funeral, forbidding even the participants to wear military uniforms to save their son, Prince Andrew and nephew Prince Harry, from the embarrassment of standing out, as they were both forced to relinquish their royal duties.
PRINCE CHARLES AND THE FAMILY
Elizabeth and the eldest Philip, the heir to the throne Prince Charles – who was photographed close to tears on Thursday as he watched the floral tributes to his “father” – will participate with his wife, Camilla.
Charles’ two sons with Princess Diana – the heir to the throne, Prince William and Prince Harry, who landed on Sunday – will also attend.
William will have his wife, Kate Middleton, with him, but Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, is seven months pregnant with her second child and stays at home in Los Angeles.
The brothers will not go to each other at the funeral, a decision that Buckingham Palace claims has nothing to do with their and their wives’ breakup on Megxit.
PRINCESS ANNE AND THE FAMILY
Elizabeth and Philip’s second eldest child, Princess Anne, will attend with her husband, a Royal Navy officer, Sir Timothy Laurence.
Anne 70, had recently hailed “her father’s legacy that inspires us all.”
The two children of Anna and Timothy will also participate. They are Peter Phillips, 43, the queen’s eldest grandson, who will participate alone, and Zara. 39 – the queen’s eldest niece – who goes with her husband Mike Tindall.
PRINCE ANDREW AND THE FAMILY
The next child of the queen and Philip is Prince Andrew, aged 61, who will participate without a plus and without a uniform, although he hopes to wear one before his mother’s uneven edict.
He retired from the great royal ship because of his friendship with pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Both of his daughters, along with his ex, Sarah Ferguson, will attend. Princess Beatrice, 32, will be there with her one-year-old husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Princess Eugenie, 31, will attend with her three-year-old husband, Jack Brooksbank – who named her son after Philip in February.
PRINCE EDWARD AND THE FAMILY
Finally, Elizabeth and Philip’s fourth and youngest child, Prince Edward, will participate with his countess’s wife, Sophie, and their two children, 17-year-old Louise and 13-year-old James. years.
Sophie was particularly excited when she visited her mother-in-law the day after Philip’s death, telling reporters afterwards, “The queen was amazing.”
Who will occupy the remaining ten seats?
EXTENDED ROYAL FAMILY
Margaret’s son, the queen’s sister, David Linley, the second Earl of Snowdon, aged 59 – a favorite nephew of the queen, receives one of the remaining seats.
So is a favorite niece, Lady Sarah Chatto, 54, who is Margaret’s daughter. She will participate with her husband, Daniel.
Below the list are the queen’s three first cousins, Prince Richard, Prince Edward, Princess Alexandra.
Complete the list of three German relatives of Philip – Prince Bernhard, Prince Donatus and Prince Philipp.
Finally, a close friend of Philip’s, Penelope Eastwood, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, will attend.
