The link is now available to request the $ 119 for students without a PAN

Today began the second phase established by the Department of the Family on monetary aid for the purchase of unprepared food for students receiving school canteen service.

In the agency’s portal, the link has already been activated, so that the tutors of the students from the Department of Education, who do not participate in the family card, can ask for help. The initial payment of this aid will reach USD 833.14, covering the period from August 2020 to February 2021 and will continue with a deposit of USD 119.02 per month.

According to the Department of the Family, the students of the families participating in the PAN program are the ones in the first phase and the money started to be deposited last Friday, to the minors that the social security ended with the figures from 0 to 2.

This effort will continue on Tuesday, February 23, with minors whose social security ends with numbers 3-5, then on Wednesday 24 those who end with 6 and 7, while those who end with 8 and 9 will be weakened on Thursday , March 25.

Meanwhile, the third phase, which is addressed to students from eligible private or non-profit institutions, who participate in the School Lunch program of the Department of Education, begins on Friday, February 26, 2021.

According to data provided by the agency, approximately 330,000 students in Puerto Rico are eligible for this aid, of which 286,787 are students in the public education system and an estimated 50,000 students belong to eligible private or non-profit school entities. Students from families participating in the PAN program total 219,222.

P-EBT assistance can be used to purchase unprepared food in the more than 3,000 Nutrition Assistance Program (NAP) certified stores throughout the island and in family markets. Each monthly payment can be used for up to six months, so families do not have to use full assistance in a single month.
