The lawyer says Argenis Contreras has revealed politicians involved in OMSA corruption

The fourth investigative court of the national district remanded on May 17 the preliminary hearing against Argenis Contreras, the main defendant in the death of lawyer Yuniol Ramírez in October 2017.

Judge Yanibet Rivas rescheduled the hearing for that day at 10:00 a.m.

Plutarco Jáquez, Argenis’s lawyer, said the court accepted two requests for adjournment; one was for the prosecution to deliver some evidence and another for lawyers to be allowed to meet with charges in Najayo prison, and the court accepted both requests.

Argenis is collaborating

According to the lawyer, Argenis Contreras has been collaborating with the authorities since he was deported from the United States and “43 days ago he told the Public Prosecutor’s Office all PLD officials who are involved in WHO acts of corruption and there are people who should be closed and happy and healthy. “

The death of Professor Yuniol Ramírez revealed the corruption that prevailed in the OMSA, for which the former director of OMSA, Manuel Rivas, and the former financial director, Faustino Rosario Díaz, were sent to trial on the merits.

While for Ramírez’s death, a lawsuit was filed against José Antonio Mercado Blanco, Jorge Luis Abreu Fabián, Heidy Carolina Peña, Lilian Francisca Suárez Jáquez and Víctor Elisander Ravelo Campos.
