The launch of Scott Pilgrim from Limited Run Games was a knockout success

– Not so limited, right?

Last week saw the long-awaited relaunch of the dynamic brawler Ubisoft Scott Pilgrim Vs. The world: The game, which returned to digital stores a decade after its initial launch. Released without a ceremony in December 2014, it seems that fans never take risks when it comes to the long-awaited encore of Sex-Bob-omb.

According to a tweet from Douglas Bogart, Run Limited games, the retailer successfully moved over 25,000 physical copies of the Nintendo Switch in the first three hours of the pre-order window, achieving Scott Pilgrim Vs. The world: The game the largest LRG version of all time. This amazing number does not include physical pre-orders for PS4 nor digital sales made directly from PSN, Microsoft Store or eShop.

It seems that the return of the retro-style scrapper would see a lot of money. Not only have old and new fans demanded Pilgrim’s return for years, but people have been forced to catch physical children in a double time so that licensing issues or bureaucracy don’t make them disappear again. It was an incredibly clever move by Limited Run to launch a physical version and it looks like the boutique retailer is ready to reap the rewards.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Complete Game Edition is now available on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Stage and Nintendo Switch. Physical editions are available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch via Limited Run Games, as well as a re-press of the title’s vinyl soundtrack and various cute merchandise items, including keychains and pins.
