The Mets were not the only local team to deal with rain problems on Sunday.
Knicks’ game against the Raptors was postponed for a few minutes, with 3:58 left in the third quarter after water dripped from the ceiling at Madison Square Garden.
A team spokesman said a “small raindrop” appeared from the ceiling, but was “fixed”.
Players from both teams were shown looking up at the ceiling during the 14-minute delay, while a field staff cleaned the water with a towel.
After the game resumed, the staff wiped the area inside the key in front of Knicks’ defensive basket after each possession in Toronto.
A few hours earlier, the Mets suspended their game against the Marlins after a 2-hour, 10-minute rain delay.
The teams, to the displeasure of Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman, tried to play in the rain for seven minutes before finally being canceled.
