The key in the fight against COVID-19 is prevention

In this regard, the revolutionary government has made countless recommendations which are sent to the Presidential Commission for Prevention, Care and Control. COVID-19, which evaluates each action in the face of the pandemic.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN COVID-19 BY CONTACT WITH A SYMPTOM-FREE PERSON?

  • The virus enters through the airways, nose and mouth, to a lesser extent through the lining of the eyes; Viruses reach the respiratory tract directly from the air when we breathe or when we bring them to the face with contaminated hands.
  • This virus reproduces initially in the nose and throat, then in the airways. It does not reproduce in the external environment, it must be inside a person, if there are no people, the virus dies.

HOW IS COVID-19 THE SPREAD?

  • Every time we breathe, talk, cough or sneeze, we expel the microparticles loaded with the virus, from 0.5 to 2 meters away. If we have a person without a mask around, these particles enter the airways directly.
  • These particles remain with live viruses in the air for up to 3 hours; if we are in closed environments, they concentrate, they dissipate in open environments.
  • Another group of particles fall on the surfaces close to the patient, on these surfaces they can stay alive between 24 and 72 hours; 24 hours on paper and cardboard surfaces, 72 hours on plastic and metal surfaces. I live longer at a lower temperature.

WHAT CAN I DO TO PROTECT MYSELF AND PREVENT THE SPREAD OF THE DISEASE?

  • Respect the voluntary quarantine, stay home. Fewer people on the street, less transmission of the virus.
  • Use a mask properly, covering the nose and mouth and permanently in all spaces. Mask as a protective barrier.
  • It is sufficient to periodically wash your hands or sanitize, soap and water, as well as solutions or gel with 70% alcohol. Avoid putting your dirty hands on your face.
  • Social distance of at least 1.5 meters between people. Avoid concentrations and overcrowding.
  • Label cough and sneeze, with tissues or on the inside of the elbow, wash your hands after sneezing and coughing.
  • Natural ventilation of environments, avoid enclosed spaces without ventilation, reduce air conditioning, glass in transport.
  • Cleaning the media, at home and at work, with solutions with soap and water or 0.5% chlorine.
