The iPhone 11 Pro with the wrongly printed Apple logo sold for $ 2,700

An alleged “printed” iPhone 11 Pro, which seems to have sold for $ 2,700, appeared in a tweet, the images showing the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone were not positioned correctly.

Posted on Twitter Friday of “Internal Archive”, the images illustrate the back of an iPhone 11 Pro from two points of view, with one tilted up from the base, while the other is a flat top-down view. The second image is displayed next to an edited version to highlight “wrong printing”.

The flaw is in the positioning and angle of the Apple logo, which is usually in the center of the back panel. In this case, the logo is off-center to the right, as well as slightly inclined counterclockwise. If true, it is feasible that this was a manufacturing error in which the panel was not placed correctly in a machine before the logo was applied to the device.

Although there is usually some form of evidence that accompanies such images to convince viewers that they are real, there is very little additional information provided by the Twitter account. It is estimated that it is an “extremely rare” printing error with a “1 in 100 million” chance of happening, it is further stated that the device managed to go through Apple’s rigorous quality assurance processes and was actually delivered to a customer.

It is unclear when and how the iPhone was sold for $ 2,700.

Although the story is relatively unknown and not very followed, it seems plausible that the images are authentic. The anonymous account has repeatedly posted images of prototype devices in the past and, although extremely rare, mistakes sometimes pass into the hands of consumers.
