Composer, musician and YouTuber Alex Moukala released a funky, bass-tastic remix of Nintendo Wii themed music on Twitter yesterday and then invited other artists to do the same. The result is an impromptu jam session full of super-talented people who show their love for one of the strangest songs in the games.
Moukala, whose music has been featured in movie trailers such as Avengers: Endgame, and who can be met often on his YouTube channel breaking down his favorite video game soundtracks, he started things by adding a new funky bass line to the music on the Wii’s home menu.
The Italian composer then called on others to join, sharing the necessary sound files for them to contribute their own music. “I think this would sound even better with more instruments, so I invite any musician to join me and post with a #MiiChannelJam hashtag! “

Currently, each track is separate, but Moukala says he could analyze their compilation into a single remix later in the week. For now, it’s really cool to see so many talented artists playing a game classic. The Internet! Sometimes it doesn’t suck and it’s actually very wonderful.
