SF. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – COVID-19 vaccines go fast in St. Louis County. Johns.
The vaccine is intended for health care workers and people aged 65 and over, and the health department distributes vaccines throughout the weekend. The county is now assisting the health department with the distribution.
On Friday evening, before 21:00, people were already waiting in line to receive the vaccine on Saturday morning.
“I decided I would come today,” said Joan Tischer. “I do not want to be the last person to die of Covid. It’s just important. “
On Friday night, there were a few cars on the street, outside the health department, and some people even brought their RVs.
Officials say 340 people received the vaccine in St. Louis County. Johns on Friday, and those queuing up Friday night said they want to make sure they get theirs too.
Tischer said he arrived Friday at 6 p.m., and will be the first person to receive the vaccine on Saturday morning.
“It’s not as bad to wait here as it is to spend a night in the ICU,” Tischer said.
Amal Soni helped his parents set their RV in line.
“They are both over 65 years old. There are a lot of people in the household at high risk. My wife has diabetes, so we wanted to make sure I was safe, ”Soni said.
Earlier that day, long queues of cars waited outside the health department for the next day in a row. Health officials said the daily supply of COVID-19 vaccines had disappeared in two and a half hours.
Licensed clinician Ambria Page says she received the vaccine after waiting seven hours.
