The first free practice session of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix of Formula 1 was interrupted with a red flag, following an incident involving the Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) and the Frenchman Esteban Ocon (Alpine).
With 22 minutes to go, the first free practice session in Imola (Italy) was interrupted by a red flag, due to the damage suffered by the cars of Esteban Ocon and Sergio Pérez.
Esteban Ocon’s car was damaged on the right front and “Checo” Pérez on the left rear, but both drivers started under their own power.
Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) defends his first position in the last 12 minutes of the session.
Drivers will return to the track to complete the second free practice session, which will last an hour at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome.
