The health of the former Argentine president is deteriorating

Former Argentine President and current Senator Carlos Menem was hospitalized in a delicate condition on Friday in a sanatorium in Buenos Aires due to kidney failure suffered in recent hours.

The 90-year-old Menem, who ruled for two consecutive terms between 1989 and 1999, was hospitalized for ten days in the Los Arcos sanatorium in the Argentine capital and was accompanied by his ex-wife Zulema Yoma and his daughter on Christmas Eve. Zulemita Menem.

Yoma told the press that the Peronist legislator’s condition “is delicate.”

Menem was admitted to that health center on December 15 for a urinary tract infection.

In the following days, relatives of the former president indicated that he is being monitored for heart failure, which was later added to kidney failure.

Throughout the year, Menem suffered from other health problems.

On July 2, the senator turned 90 while hospitalized for an image with low blood oxygen saturation. A few days earlier, he had been discharged from another health center after being hospitalized for bacterial pneumonia.
