UPDATE: From the Facebook page of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office: On December 20, 2020, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a shot officer was held in Douglas County NV, near Douglas Ave in Gardnerville, NV.
The incident is currently being investigated and there are no suspects. The suspect is currently being treated at the hospital for injuries. Highway 395 / Gillman to Waterloo remains closed. The sheriff’s office asks the public to avoid the area. More information will be published when it becomes available.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will be the main investigating agency, as the officer’s protocol involves shooting for an outside agency to investigate, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said. There are two suspects who were in a vehicle, a man and a woman, who were involved in the incident. Both are in custody, Furlong said. The condition of the injured officer is unknown at this time.
