BioWare gave us our first real look at the Mass Effect Legendary Edition last week. The remastered package includes all three titles from the original trilogy, touched with improved character models, materials, textures and lighting. It is also set to run at 60 frames per second on PS5 and PS4 Pro, with support for 4K resolution.
We’ve already seen how Commander Shepard’s mug was revised in the first game, but what about all the others? Well, GameSpot made an excellent nine-minute video that aligns photos from the original games (on PC) with photos from the revealed trailer, which I incorporated above. It doesn’t take long for us to realize that Legendary Edition is an expected leap in the right direction. Everything has an additional level of detail, and the lighting is much more efficient. The difference isn’t as visible in Mass Effect 3 (again, expected), but overall, Legendary Edition looks great.
