Governor Wanda Vázquez this morning appointed Kermit’s certified public accountant Lucena Zavala as Puerto Rico’s comptroller.
The nomination of Lucena Zavala must be evaluated by both legislative chambers.
Lucena Zavala was president of the College of Certified Public Accountants between 2014 and 2015.
A few months ago, the Legislator blocked the appointment of Secretary of Public Affairs Osvaldo Soto for the same position, stating, among other things, that he is not a public accountant or financial expert.
