With a relative break until the next wave of products launches, the Google Store is starting to show reviews and ratings. An early effort, it is not clear where the reviews come from, because you can not leave them directly on the site.
After publication, each product list will receive a “Review” section, accessible from the drop-down menu at the top left. Joins other sections, which vary by product, such as Technical Specifications, Compare, and Get Started.
The new page starts with an overview of the ratings, with Google scoring the score (out of five stars) and how many reviews are left. This is followed by a rating distribution. Google by default displays 10 reviews, with the option to upload more below. Filtering options include viewing certain star ratings and a standard “sort by” tool.
This seems like a recent effort, as the oldest review for last year’s Pixel 5 is March 4, although Nest Learning Thermostat runs until 2018. Each entry includes a title and the ability to mark unusable, while reviews are marked as “Verified Buyer” and may leave an optional “Recommend this product” check mark.
That being said, you can’t leave a review directly, and Android Police today speculates that Google could contact users directly via email.
Reviews are available for most Google products, although there are “No comments yet” for Nest Hub (second generation) released and a handful of others. At this time, you can’t access them without manually adjusting the URL, and we’ve compiled the ones we checked below:
