The New York Giants have been relatively quiet since the legal NFL handling window opened on Monday, but it’s not for lack of attempts.
Despite being somewhat financial, Giants and CEO Dave Gettleman have been aggressive in trying to sign a few selected free agents. However, with the exception of runner Devontae Booker, who was probably overpaid, and wide receiver John Ross, things did not go well.
The Giants “struggled” after the flying Leonard Floyd, but eventually ended up signing again with the Los Angeles Rams. In the end, that decision came down to personal preference and he simply said no to the Giants.
Gettleman & Co. he would also have been in the combination for Hunter Henry, who is an interesting target and probably tilts his hand a little, before agreeing to the deals with the New England Patriots.
From several sources in the league, I learned that Leonard Floyd missed the Giants. It was hard, but Floyd only chose the return of Rams.
The Giants have also mixed in to some extent on TE Hunter Henry, which is interesting. Shows in which they did not necessarily wait for the conclusion of the Leonard Williams agreement.

The giants have also been stuck in the top wide reception market, although this may be more by design. The movement of many of these free agents has been slow and the market does not seem to match demand.
In any case, it is worrying that the giants are passed by the players they covet. They were expecting better recruitment this year under head coach Joe Judge and with players like safety Logan Ryan, but that didn’t turn out the way they hoped.
