The gap between the Destiny 2 tests and the test weapons at nightfall is wide

This week is a great one for watching the latest generation of prey in Destiny 2. We saw the launch of Grandmaster Nightfalls and the surprise reactivation of Trials of Osiris with the powerful, powerful hand cannon of this mode, with fruit suspended at 3 victories / failure reward .

But I have to say that in the initial Ordeal / Grandmaster robbery offer here, if this is meant to be something like Processes, but from the PvE side, I don’t see it.

For the ordeal we have:

Shadow Price – An assault rifle with an archetype in a terrible place.

Cluster – A machine gun that is not significantly different from most others, and MGs are not exactly what you dedicate to your hard slot most of the time in PvE for obvious reasons.

palindrome – Perhaps the most sought after in the group, but an inferior archetype in the 120’s.

What about trials? The robbery of the processes is out of control these days. Desperate Messenger. Igneous hammer with two touches. Astral as more or less the only viable primary PvP rifle without sunset. A chain reaction sword. A fusion rifle with a completely unique loading advantage. A rocket launcher with lots of God launch options. A sniper who still has Vorpal. The list goes on and on.

The ordeal weapons have the Bottomless Griffin, a new advantage that is the PvE equivalent of Speed. And since Speed is garbage, so is garbage. In the past, there weren’t many things that would make GM prey feel strong or unique, even with adept versions. The new Big Ones mode is a good start, but it is best used with … Test equipment, most of the time.

Maybe this is just the beginning. The prey of trials did not start like nothing all especially, I suppose, that the Astral is really the only thing he cared about for a while. But I hoped they learned from this to launch GM prey followers and it doesn’t seem to be the case.

This may change over time, but I certainly don’t see the point in going through GMs for that prey right now. And in the lower levels, which are more cultivable, they can even get “God’s rolling” as a Feeding Frenzy / One for All Shadow Price and still be … bad, given where this type of weapon You have no unique advantages with the only new one, Bottomless Grief, which is something you actively want avoid.

If the prey in Trials can evolve, I think the Ordeal / Grandmaster prey. But right now I think the scales are wildly tilted in favor of Trials, which is why you see PvE players jumping off cliffs for a hand cannon, unlike running Nightfalls this week. I hope this will change in the next few seasons and this prey will be coveted as much as the prey now.
