A Florida couple hopes to have their dream wedding on the grounds of a magnificent, multi-million dollar mansion that has a tennis court, gazebo and a waterfall pool.
The only problem was that they never told the landlord about their plans.
Courtney Wilson and Shenita Jones invited their entire family to their wedding at “their dream home and estate,” which turned out to be a palatial property they don’t own and would not rent in the lush Florida suburb of Southwest Ranches The South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday.
The 16,300-square-foot mansion, which is on the market for $ 5.6 million, is not a wedding factory. It offers a bowling alley, 15 bathrooms, a home theater and an 800-square-meter bar.
In their online wedding invitation, Wilson and Jones referred to themselves as the “royal couple” and promised a reception that featured a “red carpet cocktail hour” on Saturday, followed by a brunch on Sunday.
But when Wilson showed up to set up shop on Saturday morning to set up, he shocked the homeowner, who claims he never gave them permission to hold their wedding there.
“I have people breaking into my property,” Nathan Finkel told a 911 dispatcher.
“And I keep harassing myself, calling myself. They are said to have a wedding here and that is God’s message. I do not know what happens. All I want is to (stop). And I’m on my property right at the front gate right now. ”
When officers arrived, they instructed Wilson to leave and he complied, media reported.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Wilson told the episode’s newspaper.
Finkel, whose deceased father was an early franchisee of the IHOP restaurant, tried to sell the palace property for just over $ 5 million.
Keith Poliakoff, a lawyer for the Southwest Ranches suburb, said Wilson had previously toured the property while posing as a potential buyer.
“The guy thought it was a vacant house and didn’t realize Nathan was living on the property in another house,” Poliakoff said. “This guy had no idea he lived there. Do you know the shock that must have been on his face when he showed up at the gate and the owner was home? ”
