The construction project for the private theme park “La Cortina” is being built in Las Lagunas de Nisibón, Higüey, where one of its main attractions will be the air park.
The tourist project will have an adventure park with 13 types of recreational activities for tourists coming to the area, as well as real estate and hotel development.
The construction of the air park is a component of the first phase of the project by Grupo Viamar, unique in the Dominican Republic and throughout the Caribbean. It will be equipped with a 1,200-meter-wide runway on 23.
The paper will also include the first skydiving school in the country, which is why he considers it extremely important to maintain a constant interaction with the Dominican Air Force.
Architect Leonardo Macarrulla said that, in the first stage, the aeronautical components will start with the construction of the internal airport, its terminal, hangars and a real estate development under the concept of villas with hangars or “hangar-houses” where the owners will be able to arrive. and store their aircraft, some of which will be located around the runway.
“This first stage will be ready in the last quarter of 2022”, said the architect giving the details of the project.
In the same way, there will be an aviator club and other facilities related to the aeronautical sector, becoming a unique place for local and international aeronautical communities.
The Executive Director of the Airport Department, Víctor Pichardo, provided technical and logistical support to the theme park construction project.
