If you lose your temper in a flight, your wallet will hurt.
A passenger who allegedly hit her in front of a Delta flight attendant in October on a flight from Miami to Atlanta is hit with a proposed fine of $ 27,500.
Federal Aviation Administration officials announced the sanction on Friday, ABC News reported.
The unnamed passenger on the Oct. 19 Delta flight was traveling and sitting next to another passenger who refused to wear a mask, secure his tray, or fasten his seat belt, the FAA said.
The pilots then returned the flight to the gate, and the flight attendants asked the two passengers to get off the plane.
“In response, the passenger accompanying the non-compliant passenger ignored the flight attendant’s instructions, began shouting explosives at the flight attendant and other passengers and struck her under the left eye,” the FAA said.
The FAA said last month it would crack down on unruly passengers without warning. They said the fines could reach $ 35,000 and passengers could receive jail time.
