If you are fascinated by the pre-release versions of classic games as well Zelda: Ocarina of Time, then it would be worth reading on …
An early beta of Link’s iconic action-adventure title from the Nintendo 64 generation was discovered. It is believed that it may have been before Space World ’97 and was actually found on a development cartridge that contained F-Zero X. This means that there is a lot of content (graphics and maps, to be exact) that did not make the reduction in the final version of Zelda 64.
The source – Forest of Illusion – has made the map files in this version available to the public – in the hope that they can be converted to a playable format (it seems that there has already been some success). It also clarifies that this is obvious not part of the Nintendo Giga leak dating back to last year.
