The eagles ask permission to interview Josh McDaniels

Philadelphia asked permission from the Patriots to speak with their offensive coordinator for the vacant head coach position.

The Philadelphia Eagles have added a new candidate to their vacancy list as head coach.

This Saturday The Eagles asked New England Patriots for permission to interview offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Philadelphia is expected to hold the interview on Sunday, sources told Schefter.

McDaniels has previous experience as head coach after spending two seasons with the Denver Broncos in 2009-2010, where he was 11-17 years old..

McDaniels is currently in his second stint as an offensive coordinator for the Patriots, where he was originally from 2006-2008, before moving to Denver. In 2011, he was offensive coordinator for St. Louis Rams also returned to New England in 2012.

The Patriots won six Super Bowls (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI and LIII) led by McDaniels.

In addition to McDaniels, The Eagles also asked permission to interrogate Eric Bieniemy, the coordinator of the Kansas City chiefs’ offensive.However, he has to wait until the playoffs’ participation is complete to conduct the interview.
