DMX was rescued Saturday afternoon and is breathing alone at a Westchester hospital after suffering a heart attack, his lawyer told Page Six.
The 50-year-old rapper “X Gon Give It to Ya” was taken to White Plains Hospital on Friday from his nearby home and initially placed on a ventilator, said lawyer Murray Richman.
“He was taken out around 3 p.m.,” Richman said. “It simply came to our notice then. A lot of people gather at the hospital. ”
DMX’s first wife and at least some of his 15 children are in the hospital with him, the lawyer said.
The lawyer could not confirm a TMZ report according to which the rapper, who was born Earl Simmons, suffered a heart attack after an apparent overdose.
“I refuse to guarantee this because I have no personal knowledge,” said the lawyer.
The serious news about the rapper “Where the Hood At” caused an outpouring on social networks, where the stars asked for prayers for the native of Mount Vernon who grew up in Yonkers.
