A loyal dog waited for almost a week outside a hospital in Turkey until her owner was released after being treated for a brain condition.
The devoted puppy, named Boncuk, followed the ambulance that took 68-year-old Cemal Senturk to the hospital in the Black Sea city of Trabzon on January 14, the DHA news agency reported.
Bonuck – whose name means “beads”, referring to her slippery eyes – then returned to the entrance each morning to continue her solitary vigil, where hospital staff sometimes fed her.
“It simply came to our notice then. Everyone noticed the relationship between the dog and its owner. It makes everyone happy, “said the representative of Fuat Ugur Hospital, according to Reuters.
Securitate member Muhammet Akdeniz told DHA: “She comes every day around 9 am and waits until nightfall. Do not enter. When the door opens, he pokes his head inside. ”
Senturk’s daughter, Aynur Egeli, said she tried to take Boncuk home several times, but the dog would run to the hospital immediately.
When Senturk was finally released on Wednesday, a happy Boncuk ran to his wheelchair, jumping to be petted and wagging his tail.
“It simply came to our notice then. The dog is very close to us, as a human being, and it makes you happy, ”said Senturk.
“She is very used to me. And I miss her, too, “he added.
