Last Thursday, new changes by officials were announced within Nayib Bukele’s economic cabinet. Reliable sources have confirmed that on this day the Deputy Minister of Economy, Miguel Ángel Corleto Urey, who was sworn in with the arrival of this government in June 2019, has resigned.

According to the Transparency Portal, prior to becoming Deputy Minister, Corleto was Technical Coordinator at the Competition Superintendency and was also a Specialist in the Planning Directorate of the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System, SG-SICA.

Rodríguez started his career at the Central Reserve Bank in 1995 as a monetary operations analyst and later obtained his PhD as a specialist in monetary operations. He was Head of the Financial Programming and Analysis Division and since 2010 Head of the Financial System Development Division.
