The COVID-19 vaccine has been available to anyone over the age of 18 at the Orlando Jazz Event, says commissioner

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Johnson and Johnson vaccine was available to anyone 18 and older at Jazz in the Park in Orlando on Saturday, according to City Commissioner Bakari Burns.

“If you’re 18 or older, you can get vaccinated,” said Commissioner Bakari Burns.

Burns said this in a Facebook Live post around 5:30 in the video. He did this fast on Saturday at 1:13 p.m. About three hours later, Burns clarified his statement and said that anyone 18 years of age and older with comorbidities.

News 6 spoke to people under the age of 40 who received a COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday.

Tickets for the Bill Frederick Park event sold out earlier this week, according to Burns’ Facebook page.

“We all need to consider getting the vaccine if you haven’t,” Burns said.

Burns said the shootings were administered by crews from the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

From Monday, anyone over the age of 50 will be eligible for the coronavirus vaccine in Florida.

Also, starting Monday, anyone over the age of 40 will be able to receive a vaccine at the Orange County Convention Center.

250 doses of vaccine were available at the event.
