The judicial official is being prosecuted for the crime of breach of obligations, according to the accusation of the General Prosecutor’s Office (FGR) for non-compliance with the order to bring the Minister of Finance, Alejandro Zelaya, to the Legislative Assembly, before the special commission investigating the use of public funds during emergency COVID-19 .

The assembly also certified to the Attorney General’s Office that the director of police did not comply with the notification made by the legislature to take Minister Zelaya by force.

Last week, during the investigation of the crime against him, Arriaza Chicas added “that he did nothing wrong” and that the accusation comes for “non-fulfillment of illegal orders that are not covered by legal formalities”, as he said briefly at the Center Judge Isidro MenĂ©ndez.

This is the second lawsuit Arriaza Chicas is facing. In the late 1990s, he was prosecuted for procedural fraud, after being charged with implanting evidence (an AK-47 rifle) in a court proceeding from which he was dismissed.
