The couple, who have been on the run since 2013 in Hatillo, have been arrested

A couple who had fled since 2013 were arrested on Tuesday afternoon, on the PR-130 highway, in front of Hatillo High School, police reported.

The detainees were identified by authorities as Milagros Rodríguez Vázquez, 38, who was driving a Volkswagen Jetta, and her husband Abbid Nieves Batista, 33, both residents of the Bayaney neighborhood of Hatillo.

Both had arrest warrants for fugitives, issued by Judge Heidi Kiess Rivera of the Arecibo Court.

By 2013, the couple had committed the crime of misappropriation, fraud, stolen vehicle and escalation.

They were admitted to the Bayamón Regional Prison.
