The dispatch was received by the vice president and coordinator of the Health Cabinet, Raquel Peña, in the company of officials from the sector in the country.

One million of these vaccines have been contracted with the Asian company Sinovac; while the remaining 50,000 is a donation from the government of the People’s Republic of China, produced by China National Biotech Group (CNBG), a state-owned subsidiary of Sinopharm.

In addition, 51,200 syringes were donated.

“The health cabinet explained that only 25,000 of these vaccines will be used as first doses and will store the remaining 50%, so that 28 days later they can be used as second doses and thus ensure that both inoculations come from to the same pharmaceutical company “, says a statement of the Presidency of the Republic, regarding the donated vaccines.
