The congressman’s spokesman will stop within 2 weeks

The spokesman for the Republican American Rep. Lauren Boebert quit less than two weeks after being sworn in, saying he was prompted to do so by the uprising at the Capitol.

DENVER – The spokesman for the Republican US Rep. Lauren Boebert was denounced less than two weeks after being sworn in and said he was prompted to do so by the uprising in the Capitol.

Ben Goldey confirmed his departure to The Colorado Sun after it was first reported by Axios on Saturday. The Sun reported that Goldey did not respond to additional questions, but he told Axios he would be leaving in the wake of a deadly riot at the Capitol on January 6.

Boebert, a Republican for the first term in Colorado with links to the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory, has tried to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s victory and gained attention for swearing to carry a gun in the Capitol.

“After the events of January 6, I have decided to leave the office,” Goldey told Axios. “I wish her and the people in Colorado’s Third District the best.”

Boebert’s office declined to comment. “The office does not comment on internal personnel matters with individual employees,” Jeff Small, Boebert’s chief of staff, told The Colorado Sun on Saturday.
