“Cobra Kai” actress Courtney Henggeler was about to leave Hollywood behind when she played a role in the Netflix series.
“My husband told me that I can’t give up because we ensured our health through SAG,” the 42-year-old actress, who has had a number of lead roles in the past decade, told Page Six.
“He said, ‘Stay there a little longer until we can figure out our next step in health insurance.’
Fortunately for Henggeler, a week later, she was intercepted to play alongside Ralph Macchio and William Zabka in “Cobra Kai,” playing Macchio’s wife on screen, Amanda LaRusso.
“I definitely named him one word for the first two seasons of filming,” she admitted of Macchio. “He said, ‘You can call me Ralph.'”
However, Henggeler – who appeared in series including “The Big Bang Theory”, “Mom” and “Happy Endings” – confessed that he grew up to be the character of Zabka, the villain Johnny Lawrence, who stole his heart in the original 1984 film.
“Blond hair? The bad boy surfer? Come on! “She said, adding,” What can you do? My heart wants what it wants. Also, I was probably six years old. “
