Starting Monday, the TCF Center will begin taking appointments for Detroiters over the age of 75 and for essential “Group B” workers – which includes teachers and child care workers.

Residents can call 313-230-0505 to schedule an appointment. Vaccinations will begin on Wednesday.

When an appointment is scheduled, individuals will be given two appointment dates – one for the first dose and one for the second dose required.

Call center staff will contact each person scheduled prior to the second meeting to remind them.

For greater efficiency and comfort, the city recommends that, where possible, eligible members of the same family or neighbors schedule together and arrive in the same vehicle.

On Friday, the vaccine will be made available to any Detroit police officer or DDOT bus driver who wishes.

The Detroit Department of Health aims to vaccinate all homeless shelters and apartment buildings by the elderly by the end of February.

The city is working hard to prevent long queues from waiting for the vaccine.

Who is eligible to receive the TCF vaccine?

  • Any Detroit resident over the age of 75
  • Any “good neighbor” 65 years of age and older who drives a 75-year-old child to the TCF Center
  • Group B key workers, including K-12 teachers and childcare workers

Detailed information on the TCF test site is available on the official Detroit website. As additional independent vaccination sites from pharmacies and other areas come online to the city, a site map will be added to the site.
