Romero hit an RBI single at the bottom of the 10th to end a somersault duel and leave the field for Lara Cardinals. The Caribs prevailed on Tuesday with 8-7, completing the end of the final series with the best of seven.
The tribe has earned the right to represent the circuit in the Caribbean 2021, which will be played in the Mexican port of Mazatlán starting January 31.
The Cardinals, who were looking to revalidate the title obtained in the previous season, started to take advantage in the same first half, with a three-round shot by Carlos Rivero. However, the Caribbean responded in the loss of the same episode with a double RBI in two stages of Oswaldo Arcia to reduce the distance.
In the third half, the Caribs returned to attack when Ali Castillo and Arcia hit each RBI single to take a 4-3 lead. The Cardinals equalized in the fifth with a double RBI from René Reyes and added two more in the seventh to regain the lead.
Passing after a race at the bottom of the eighth, Romero hit a two-run RBI single, which he again gave to the Caribs leaders and eliminated them in three titles.
The Cardinals refused to die and managed to tie the game at the top of the ninth inning with an RBI single by Gorkys Hernandez, sending the game into additional innings, where it was defined by Romero’s single.
Jake Sánchez (1-0) got the victory with a relief of 1 1/3 half, without allowing a score. The counterattack entered the record of Vicente Campos, after allowing the difference in his relay of two thirds of a half.

José Samayoa defeated star Manny Barreda in a spectacular pitching duel, and Hermosillo Naranjeros defeated Culiacán Tomateros 1-0 to take a 3-1 lead in the final of the best of the seven for the League title Mexican Pacific.
Samayoa (1-0) dominated the opposing offense by completing seven empty halves, with only two shots and six fans to get the victory. The loser was Manny Barreda (0-1), despite finishing the game with nine innings of one round and six shots.
The only race of the match came in the sixth half. With two outs, José Cardona traded a walk and advanced to third base on a single by Yadiel Hernández, before scoring in a timely RBI double from Detroit Tigers player Isaac Paredes.
