The British government’s website has revealed the date of Prince Philip’s funeral

An apparent scam on the British government’s website accidentally revealed the date of Prince Philip’s funeral – Saturday morning, April 17, was reported in a report on Friday.

The 99-year-old royal died Friday at his home at Windsor Castle, where he and his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, had been staying during the blockade of COVID-19.

“On April 9, 2021, Buckingham Palace announced the death of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh,” read the post deleted from the Gov.uk website, as revealed on Friday by the British website Express.co.uk .

“From this date, a period of national mourning has begun and will continue for eight days until the morning of the funeral,” the announcement, apparently published by mistake, continued.

“During this time, the government will issue guidelines for the public, organizations and businesses to respect the mourning period,” he said.

Currently, the government website only says that “announcements will be made in due time”.

Buckingham Palace was cautious about any details about the funeral – due to coronavirus restrictions and Philip’s aversion to “any agitation”.
