The boys on the beach sell a controlled interest to their owners and their brand

Beach Boys sold a controlling stake in the group’s intellectual property to Irving Azoff’s company Iconic Artists Group, Rolling Stone reports. The sale includes the group’s main recordings and part of their release, but unlike recent agreements by artists such as Bob Dylan and Neil Young, the Beach Boys sale also includes the rights to the brand as a whole and the group’s memorabilia.

Azoff did not disclose how much he paid for a control action, but the band will retain an interest in their intellectual property. “They can make the final decision on business decisions, which is what we really need – I should say what we need,” Al Jardine said. Rolling Stone.
