The Boeing 737 MAX lands unscheduled after the engine appeared

An Air Canada Boeing 737 Max plane landed unscheduled – but safe – on Friday due to engine problems.

There were three crew members on board, but for the passengers. No injuries were reported.

The plane was flying from Arizona to Montreal when the pilots received an engine alert and decided to change course in order to settle in Tucson, Arizona, the BBC reported.

The alert was for “left engine hydraulic pressure” and a fuel imbalance issue, according to Aviation.24.be, a Belgian aviation news site.

In 2019, US aviation regulators grounded all 737 Max aircraft after two fatal accidents just five months away. The accidents – one in Indonesia, the other in Ethiopia – took 346 in total.

In mid-November, the FAA gave OK for the planes to start flying again after Boeing revised the aircraft’s automated flight software, which made the planes unpleasant.
