The latest Nintendo Switch update earlier this month seems to have leaked a long-awaited feature that Switch and Switch Lite users have begged Nintendo to add, but no one seems to have noticed, though this is due to the fact that that the update patch notes are misleading. According to the patch notes in the latest update of the console pair, the said update did not do much. In fact, the patch notes reveal almost nothing. However, the update did more than reveal the patch notes or at least that’s what the data researchers claim. Looking through the update files, it was found that the update added audio support to the Bluetooth driver without telling anyone.
On Twitter, the Nintendo Switch data analyzer, “OatmealDome”, sent a message about the discovery and noted that it is currently unclear whether anything uses this support. And, of course, there is no guarantee that this will be used, but it is unlikely that Nintendo has added this feature for no reason, especially given the context that players have been asking for Bluetooth Audio since its launch in 2017. .
Personally, I don’t think Nintendo would add this for “no reason”, so hopefully it will be used somewhere. (Especially since Bluetooth Audio is a popular feature on the switch.)
We’ll see what happens. Maybe it will be, maybe not. Nintendo works in mysterious ways.

For now, it remains to be seen what will happen next. In the meantime, take all this with a grain of salt and not because the source is not reliable. These are real files added by the latest update, but now all we have are files and possibilities.
As for Nintendo, it has not commented on any of the above information and will probably not do so. Nintendo rarely ever comments on rumors, reports or leaks. Since the launch of the Nintendo Switch, it has not commented on a single leak and it is hard to imagine that it will change now. However, if it breaks this pattern and offers any kind of comment, we will be sure to update the story accordingly.
