The strangest CES ever staged is over. But no one will be hosting cabins in Las Vegas and not picking up $ 1,000 a night hotel rooms today with all the great gadgets they’ve been showing all week. That’s because so much new technology hasn’t been shown. Much of the CES has been a remake of previous weeks – and even months – of announcements. It made the digital business even weirder! But there were still some cool things that left us pumped for 2021 and some absolutely wild things that made us laugh, huddle and scratch our heads at daring.
We will see more things only as the year goes on. Countless companies have hinted at big news in the coming weeks, and with major competing shows like IFA and Computex likely to happen later in 2021, a lot of companies could own the smallest gadgets for the shows. consumer electronics for which people can actually participate in person.
The best gadgets from CES 2021
Lenovo X1 Titanium Yoga
While Lenovo has not tried to reinvent 2-in-1, combining an even sleeker design with a new titanium-coated body to create the thinnest ThinkPad ever, the new ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga it feels a little more special. And as someone who appreciates a good multi-tasker, not only does the X1 Titanium Yoga have a 360-degree convertible chassis, but it also comes with full stylus support for drawing and grading and updated specifications, including Intel chips to 11 -th generation, Thunderbolt 4 and a 3: 2 high screen perfect for all kinds of productivity. ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga is simply a beautifully made premium laptop. – Sam Rutherford
All 6E Wi-Fi routers
G / O Media may receive a commission
Last year, the Wi-Fi 6 standard promised to improve the speed and performance of wifi on a crowded network, using smart engineering tricks to increase the bandwidth of each wireless channel so that multiple devices can operate simultaneously with fewer interference between channels. But it was more of a help solution to a growing problem. Wi-Fi 6E promises for a period of time, by introducing a new 6 GHz band to the existing 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The 6 GHz band offers 59 separate channels that do not overlap, so that multiple devices can operate at higher bandwidths at the same time. (Think of 8K smart TVs that stream 8K content.) The best part is that older devices won’t be able to access the 6GHz band, only newer devices (which should arrive later this year), which should ensure the new lane does not immediately fill with traffic. – Andrew Liszewski
Mudra Apple Watch Band
Troop Mudra is an Apple Watch strap that gives you the ability to control it with one hand. There are sensors that read electrochemical signals to interpret the various gestures of the hands. For example, you can touch your index finger and thumb to drop a call, or you can close your thumb to skip a piece of music. There is a lot of potential for this type of device, both in terms of accessibility and hands-free comfort. And it’s not vaporware. The band costs $ 180 and is expected to be delivered in March. – Victoria Song
Asus ROG Flex X13
It is a 2-in-1 gaming laptop. Yes, a real 2-in-1 with 360 degree hinges. The included GPU might have a better punch (it’s just a GTX 1650), but the rest of the specs are pretty solid: a new AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS mobile processor, liquid metal instead of regular thermal paste, and a choice between a Screen 120 Hz or UltraHD 4K coated with Corning Gorilla Glass. For anyone who wants the option of a better GPU, Flux X13 pairs with Asus XG Mobile, a compact eGPU that supports up to an RTX 3080. The price of the two is expensive – $ 3,000 – but I hope Asus sells Flow X13 separately or at least will make XG Mobile available soon with other GPUs . – Joanna Nelius
Samsung Bespoke Flex with 4 doors
I know it might be weird to be so excited about the fridge just because it produces a new kind of ice, but innovation in the fridge space has been pretty sluggish in recent years. Everything seems to revolve around screens or windows in doors and this is not something most people need or want. Good ice it is something that everyone can appreciate and, although Bespoke is probably too expensive for an ordinary person, its ability to produce good or pebble, ice means that this technology finally reaches refrigerators. If that means a refrigerator in four years can help me make a drink as satisfying as a Dr. Pepper Cherry Vanilla from Sonic I’m in. – Alex Cranz
TCL XL collection
For TV buyers looking for a larger display on a tight budget, I have some great news: TCL will be big in 2021. The company’s new XL collection will include three 85-inch display models, including a 4K QLED powered by Roku TV, a 4 series with Roku TV and an 8K QLED TV. Options! We don’t know yet how much TCL will charge for two of these three, but we do know that the 4 Series (85R435) will sell for $ 1,600, which is a ridiculously good deal for a display of this size (and if it can wait a while, this price will probably fall closer to the holidays). This year it debuts on all monster screens, but TCL XL displays will probably be a difficult business to overcome. – Catie Keck
The strangest gadgets in CES 2021
Razer’s Project Brooklyn and Project Hazel
Strange doesn’t necessarily mean bad, and in the case of Razer’s two conceptual gadgets for CES 2021, Razer presents different ways to deal with everyday problems that people might face this year. One hand The Brooklyn Project represents the final evolution of a gaming chair and even with the 60-inch rolling OLED screen and RGB lighting, it is something that virtually any player would like to have at home. In the meantime, Project Hazel is an innovative approach to a standard reusable mask, providing the kind of protection people need against airborne viruses, while addressing many of the problems people have with traditional cloth or paper coatings. Honestly, the main thing that keeps these concepts in strange territory instead of moving on to our best list is that both are closer to fiction than something you can actually buy. – Sam Rutherford
Cold snap
Keurig dominates the pod-based food space, while others like Juicero have spectacular he failed to try to make room. While the cars promise that the experience is about convenience, there are some big trade-offs to the approach. Bridges need to be manufactured and recycled, and the cost per bridge usually means if you don’t use the device several times a day, it’s just not worth it. Cold snap It also looks like a beast of a car and looks like it would take up a lot of counter space for the comfort of soft-serve ice cream in just 90 seconds. You can buy ice cream makers for less than $ 100, which lasts longer, but you can also use all the ingredients. – Andrew Liszewski
Panasonic nanoe hair dryer
Panasonic nanoe hair dryer (EH-NA67-W) gets its real name from a feature in which the hair dryer draws moisture from the surrounding air (which is probably very humid after a bath or shower) and then blasts your locks with “small particles, rich in moisture ”Panasonic claims that it is“ 1,000 times wetter ”than the charged ion particles that other hair dryers use to achieve the same moisturizing effect. It also has a unique quick-drying oscillating nozzle that moves quickly back and forth in an attempt to dry your hair faster and with less effort. At $ 150 it falls somewhere between a cheap hair dryer and Dyson’s premium offerings and could be taken care of if it sounds very weird technology in fact works. – Andrew Liszewski
AMD and NKeynotes of emptiness
Both AMD and Nvidia had some great news about mobile devices at CES 2021, but the new news doesn’t mean interesting news and a massive lack of GPU space it meant that both companies refrained from making much bigger announcements that fans were waiting for. We’ll get Radeon 6700 and RTX 3070 Super someday, but not at CES. – Joanna Nelius
Harman Personal platform for audio headrests
Speakers built into the headrest of the car seat appearing down to introduce music into ears are a great idea, but I’m not sure it’s a practical one. The speakers on both sides of the head seem as a good way to damage your noggin in the event of an accident and it will be absolutely annoying if you drive with a friend and suddenly install their speakers. There is also the way he kills the song in the car basically necessary if you have two or more people in a car and someone is a kickass with the AUX cable. I don’t hate Harman personal audio headrest platform, but certainly it seems like a strange solution to a problem that few people have. – Alex Cranz
Samsung Eco remote control
I’m excited to see a TV manufacturer moving away from disposable AA or AAA batteries, which will probably end up in the trash. If Samsung is to be believed, it is new Eco remote control—Which will be shipped with all its new 2021 QLED 4K and 8K TVs – can be charged via as well as via a USB-C port, and Samsung says the remote can last up to two years on a single charge. Not too bad if you buy a TV that you hope to have in the next 10 years or more. I’m extremely optimistic about this remote, but I’d like to see it in action before I’m too pumped about the future of TV sticks. It’s sure seems however, as a step in the right direction. – Catie Keck
Patch Morari
E o taint … bandaid …which pushes the ground of no one between the scrotum and the anus to stop premature ejaculation. Do I really have to work out? – Victoria Song
