The Australian Pokémon Go player becomes the first to reach level 50 worldwide

It’s been almost two months since then Pokémon Go has increased its level cap in the Go Beyond update. Going from level 40 to 50, players had a rising problem to reach this rank since then, one that included some confusion with The British authorities. Yesterday, it finally happened as not one, but Two the players have finally achieved this goal.

It was first made by FleeceKing, an Australian player who captured this moment through Twitch, but it was a close fight to the end. Australian colleague Lauren Bertoni he also reached level 50 just 16 minutes later, making a fierce contest.

It appeared when several Go players reached level 48, but were waiting for a timed requirement to advance. Unfortunately, they all found that their challenges were reset to this level. Led to Niantic investigating and once completed, Lauren’s level 49 requirements were set to be completed. FleeceKing seems to have benefited in a similar way, giving them a boost in competition.

They still had to meet all the level 50 requirements and that’s a pretty high order. This included winning another 30m XP, scoring 999 excellent throws, reaching 10th place in the Go Battle League, 5 legendary catches from legendary meetings in a row and 3 Team Go Rocket Leader victories winning using Pokémon under 2500 hp. A big question, but they finally got there.
