“We respectfully call on the international community to keep an eye on El Salvador and the United Nations to ensure peace and other guarantees, and to support, if requested by the Salvadoran state, the Attorney General’s Office and the National Civil Police in any capacity in investigations into which these institutions perform ”, the statement states.
In addition, they make a request to the Organization of American States (OAS) and the European Union to advance the arrival of their observers for the elections that will take place in the country on February 28.
MPs send a message of condolences to the families of Gloria Rogel and Juan de Dios Tejada, FMLN militants and veterans who lost their lives in the attack on Sunday.
They added that the powers and obligations of the President of the Republic are to maintain sovereignty unscathed, to seek social harmony and to maintain the peace and tranquility and security of the people as members of society.
The statement will be taken to the Blue Chamber for approval in plenary on Wednesday.

Deputies from various factions condemned and deplored the attack on the left-wing caravan.
