The overloaded sheep, named Baarack, had been found “wandering in the rugged Victorian bush” by a man who maintained the property, who took it to Edgar’s Mission in Lancefield, Victoria, in early February, according to the shelter.
In the video filmed by Edgar’s Mission staff on February 5, Baarack struggles to balance under the weight of his dirty, dirty wool.
“This is a good place to be, ole ‘mate,” a man is heard saying to the sheep.
Edgar’s mission told Storyful that Baarack “does so well” and gets used to life in the shelter.
He weighed more than 35 kilograms of wool, according to CNN.
“We really believe that he understands what we did for him, made his life easier and turned it into a good thing,” they said. “For now, they are settling with other equally lucky saved sheep.”
Photos before and after Baarack went viral online.
In case you didn’t know, sheep need people to cut their wool. If left to grow uncontrollably, it is bad for their health.
