The Secretary of the Department of Health, Carlos Mellado López, signed this afternoon the administrative order that guarantees the vaccination process exclusively for the population over the age of 65 or over, in the next four weeks.

According to the Order, “the lack of vaccines deserves to be prioritized in vaccination to protect the most vulnerable and essential personnel to deal with the emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.” This group was established as elderly due to the high level of risk.

“For the next 28 days, the first doses of vaccines distributed by the Department of Health to public and private organizations will be provided with priority to adults over 65 in all established vaccination centers, except for centers dedicated to vaccination education system staff,” the administrative order states. .

In addition, he emphasizes that the vaccination process will continue strictly through vaccination stages and appoints health inspectors to ensure compliance with it.

The order also clarifies that the turn of respondents will start again when the turn of older adults ends.
