The 90-year-old North Hollywood man is ashamed of AT&T to modernize its internet by removing advertisements from newspapers

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) – A 90-year-old man from North Hollywood was so irritated by the slow internet at home that he took out two newspaper ads to embarrass the AT&T CEO to fix it.

And it worked.

Aaron Epstein paid $ 10,000 to run Wall Street Journal ads, accusing AT&T of short-lived residents who need fast internet services.

A day later, the military appeared at Epstein’s door.

“At noon, I eat lunch, the front doorbell rings,” Epstein recalled. “There are two men in AT&T uniforms wearing boots that you climb on poles. Saying we’re here to install the fiber optic line behind your house.”

– I thought well, bingo.

To his delight, less than a week later, Epstein now has an AT&T fiber service with very fast internet speeds.

AT&T said in a statement: “Earlier this week we completed the planned expansion of AT&T Fiber in this customer’s neighborhood and were pleased to offer the update it wanted.”
