The 4-year-old finds the footprint of the dinosaurs while walking with her father

A 220-million-year-old dinosaur footprint was found by a 4-year-old boy on a beach in Wales.

Lily Wilder found the well-preserved imprint earlier this month at Bendricks Bay, and scientists say it could help them understand how the dinosaurs were doing. Cindy Howells, curator of paleontology at the National Museum of Wales, told the BBC that the print, which is almost four inches long, is “the best specimen ever found on this beach”.

Wilder found her fingerprint while walking on the beach with her father, Richard Wilder, according to the report.

“Lily saw her go through time and said, ‘Look, Daddy,'” said her mother, Sally Wilder. “When Richard came home and showed me the picture, I thought it was amazing.”

Scientists have said they can’t say what kind of dinosaur left its mark in the mud.
