The 2021 vote does not produce participants

The 2021 Baseball Hall of Fame class will be an empty one.

Zero candidates reached the threshold of 75% of the BBWAA vote. In particular, Curt Schilling (71.1), Barry Bonds (60.7) and Roger Clemens (61.6) came in short.

All three have one more year of voting eligibility before the Hall of Fame destinies reach the Veterans Committee.

This marks the ninth time that zero participants have been voted in the Hall of Fame. The classes of 2013, 1996, 1971, 1965, 1960, 1958, 1950 and 1945 were also empty.

However, Cooperstown will have a celebration. After the 2020 ceremony was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, Derek Jeter, Larry Walker, Ted Simmons and Marvin Miller will finally receive their consecration.
