Mach 1 is back for 2021, replacing Bullitt in the Mustang range. Mach 1 is above the EcoBoost and GT models, but below the Shelbys models. Here are the details of the prices and options.

Mach 1 is only available as a fastback – no top-down convertible cruise with this model. (Ford and Dodge do not offer convertible versions of their most powerful models.) Mach 1 comes in two models; the basic car starts at $ 52,720. This brings you goodies, such as Recaro sports seats, a dashboard mounted on the dashboard and the handling package, which comes with adjustable support brackets, a cover spoiler and 19-inch wheels.

Mach 1 Premium is the next step up. Starting at $ 54,315. In addition, the $ 1,595 offers you things like heated and cooled seats and a heated steering wheel.

There are seven exterior colors: Racing Red, Velocity Blue, Twister Orange, Iconic Silver, Grabber Yellow, Oxford White and Shadow Black. Four striped options complete the exterior paint: two strips and two strokes. Twister Orange is the only color that comes at an additional cost of $ 495. Each stripe is available in each exterior color. Unfortunately, if you do not care about the appearance of the stripes, they can not be removed.

Mach 1 is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 480 horsepower. You can choose either a standard six-speed manual with match matching, or a 10-speed automatic with $ 1,595. There are not many options to choose from, as this comes loaded. Mach 1 includes the performance package along with the active exhaust system and the MagnaRide damping system. You can choose 19-inch 194-inch wheels and $ 495 red brake calipers. This complements the exterior options.

Inside, it’s the same story. It’s loaded, the only options for the interior being a $ 595 interior ship system that I’d jump on and the $ 1,595 Recaro sports seats that look great. Keep in mind, however, that if you choose these, you will lose power adjustment. All in all, a Mach 1 fully loaded with each option (10-speed automatic, $ 495 Orange Paint, etc.) totals $ 59,085. This is just the basic car, mind you. I would save $ 4,280 and receive no options.

Mach 1 Premium is more or less the same, with a few key differences in options that differentiate it. For the first time, Premium receives another color choice, Fighter Jet Gray. It is a kind of light blue-gray, which is popular now on so many models. This color is part of a package larger than $ 1,000 Mach 1, which must be selected if this color is chosen. Premium also gets an extra black option with orange accents. There is an “enhanced safety package” of $ 395, which means that Ford charges $ 400 for locking the wheels. Then there’s the $ 1,295 Mach 1 Elite package. It offers you a 12-speaker B&O sound system with CD player (!) And includes the security package mentioned above.

The differences inside the Premium are reduced to the optional $ 1,595 Recaro leather seats and an ambient lighting system that requires Recaros. Keep in mind, however, that you cannot get the seats heated and cooled with Recaros. All in all, you look at about $ 63,000 for a Mach 1.

It’s a lot of coins for what it means to be a tart GT. If Shelby GT350 were still around, you’d better buy. It started at $ 60,440. But if you’re looking for a pony car that’s more than a GT, but not as crazy as a Shelby, Mach 1 is.
