CD Projekt Red has released Patch 1.1 for Cyberpunk 2077, the first of several updates and fixes they have planned for 2021. Patch 1.1 is largely focused on stability, CDPR says, which they will improve in continued in the next planned patch 1.2.

In terms of stability, CDPR says they have addressed the use of memory related to many of the game’s systems, including characters, navigation, road traffic and more. They also made solutions to blocking issues while loading saves and opening or closing the game.

In connection with some major save file corruption issues shortly after release, CDPR says they have fixed an issue “responsible for saving oversizing (related to the modifier indicating whether the item is created) and reduced the excessive size of saves already existing ”. However, this will not repair saved files that were already corrupted before the previous 1.06 hotfix.

For PC users specifically, CDPR says gamers should now be able to get achievements while Steam is in offline mode. Also on the PC’s fix list is “blocking game start related to loading cache on NVIDIA graphics cards.”

You can catch the rest of the update notes for patch 1.1 on the CDPR website.

This is the first of several updates and corrections during 2021 that CDPR said they planned in their rather short roadmap last week. Along with the roadmap, CDPR also posted the above apology video and a page on their website dedicated to their progress toward improving the game.

Graham’s Cyberpunk 2077 review calls it “a big, beautiful, broken mess.”
